How Can You Be Involved?

Zeleny could run with just the two of us... but our heads might explode... and then it would be messy and gross and kinda awkward... so we LOVE volunteers.

If you want to help out for 1 hour or even 5 we welcome any help we can get!

Our jobs range from being a helping hand during the show or handing out fliers to local businesses before the show!

We want this to be an amazing event for three main reasons:

1)  We have a passion for handmade items and especially eco-friendly items that help make our world a better place.

2) We don't know our artists yet, but we already love them and we want to show them how supported and loved they are by bringing out lots of excited shoppers!

3) This is a fundraiser for two non-profit organizations that we both work for.  Heartland Center and GSOL are near and dear to our hearts.  We want to raise money for them to help further their missions that we truly believe in. All proceeds we receive for booths and other fees will go directly to these organizations.

So that we know what you are interested in and how we can support you in your volunteer endeavors we ask that you fill out this Volunteer Application:

Volunteer Application

We have a digital copy of a flier we can send you, links you can post, ideas and all the support in the world for any other creative ways you want to help!

There are only two weeks left to apply (ahhhhhhhhhhhh! we're in Starbucks right now, but we are silently screaming....) so tell your crafty friends and send in those last minute applications!

We can't wait to announce our vendors!  Get pumped!

Why Zeleny?

Do you like saving every scrap you use?  Do you like converting old unloved things into something new?  Re-using? Recycling? Using or creating Eco-friendly products?

So do we.  And that's why we decided to start the Zeleny Art Fair.  Zeleny Art Fair is (as far as we know) one of the only fairs of its kind in the Northland of Kansas City.  We want to bring Eco-indie crafters together to one space to share their beautiful creations.

"Zeleny" translates to the word green in Czech.  We wanted a unique name to showcase what our show is all about.  Zeleny Art Fair will be featuring Eco-friendly crafters that love to recycle, reuse or reduce what might have just been thrown away.  We think it takes a special type of creativity to be Eco-friendly and we want to celebrate that.

We love the outdoors.  The Earth is just beautiful and we feel it is our responsibility to preserve it as much as we can.  That's why we have created this show to support two worthy non-profits that strive to celebrate the outdoors as much as we do.  Heartland Center and Graydon Springs Outdoor Legacy will be receiving all of the proceeds from our show.

About Graydon Springs Outdoor Legacy (GSOL):

"We are a non-profit interest group working to promote and preserve the Graydon Springs property in Polk County, Missouri. We will encourage programming and usage of the land in five focus areas: Education, Recreation, Community, Ozarks Heritage and Sustainability. Our non-profit group will become stewards of the land, working with other local groups and facilitating programming to ensure the land is enjoyed for generations to come."

About  Heartland Center:

"In response to the Good News of Jesus Christ, Heartland Presbyterian Center provides hospitality and programming in a natural setting for individuals, families, churches, and the community."
"Founded in 1958, Heartland Presbyterian Center is a mission of the Presbyteries of Heartland and Northern Kansas, Synod of Mid-America, Presbyterian Church (USA), providing shelter, nurture and spiritual fellowship for the children of God."

If you would like to apply to be a vendor in our exciting new Eco-indie fair please go to the "apply" tab and fill out an application!

Even if you aren't interested in applying you can support us by spreading the word, "liking" us on Facebook and attending the show in April!

Zeleny will be held at Heartland Center on Saturday April 28th!  Come out to support this one of a kind event!
